AspenTech is looking for a Senior Manager, Americas PR & AR to join our Corporate Marketing team.
Location: Bedford, MA or Houston, TX.
The role will be split approximately 75% NORAM PR and 25% analyst relations.
Reporting to the Global PR Director, our ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and energetic multi-tasker with a proven track record in executing world-class technology PR and industry analyst programs.
Our PR program is working hard to share our corporate and technology stories with business, industry and technology media. This role is part of a global team and is responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of a comprehensive PR program in the US. The role requires close collaboration with the Global PR Director (Bedford, MA), EMEA (UK) and Asia Pacific (Singapore) PR leads to ensure a coordinated global PR effort. The role will also collaborate closely with the wider corporate marketing function as well as sales leadership, creating content and providing PR support to the field marketing, sales and social media teams.
Our analyst program aims to engage global analysts, so they can understand and represent AspenTech and our solutions to the technology buyer community. The candidate will pick up our existing program and portfolio of activities and execute that in the short-term, while creating a longer-term strategic analyst relations plan. This element to the role requires a balance of strategic thinking with tactical execution. The candidate will liaise with stakeholders across the company at all levels and across functions.
Effectively communicate AspenTech’s business and technology story and ensuring that AspenTech’s US communication and messaging aligns with corporate and regional priorities
Gain recognition of AspenTech as the solution provider of choice and industry thought leader through favorable media coverage and PR, leading AspenTech’s US PR strategy, campaigns and activities, including press releases, media outreach and customer reference program
Monitor industry trends affecting AspenTech customers and business in the US and making recommendations on how to leverage these trends for AspenTech’s benefit
Manage media briefings with executives and subject matter experts, including preparation for the briefings and follow up
Drive earned media in target media channels, including business, technology and vertical media, and developing a pipeline of news and storylines for these target media, thereby strengthening AspenTech’s reputation as a dependable resource for target media
Cultivate new media channels, contacts and outlets (with a focus on business and national media) and collaborate with and manage external PR agency to include: securing media placements, profiling stories, preparing partners for interviews and providing guidance on publication opportunities
Work with senior leaders to identify and nurture customer references and driving the use of customer references in US PR activities
Lead media relations activities before, during and after key events
Further raise the firm’s visibility in key industry groups regionally by working closely with local business development and marketing teams
Management of ongoing programs with ARC Group and Gartner
Recommend and develop relationships with other influential firms (IDC/Forrester etc)
· Manage briefing of key analysts around product launches
· Manage analyst attendance, briefings and follow up at our OPTIMIZE conferences in the US, and coordinate analyst attendance at China Optimize with local APAC PR lead
Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders, align with their business needs – product management, product marketing, business consulting, corporate marketing
Provide strategic guidance to product, technology and industry leaders based on insights gained from analysts and their market research
Manage all aspects of preparing and executing relevant reports for ARC Group and Gartner
Read published research and social media posts from the analyst community, summarize and provide recommendations for engagement and next steps to internal stakeholders
Track, create and produce metrics for and report analyst interactions and coverage
What You'll Need
The successful candidate must be fluent in written and spoken English, have 10+ years’ PR and analyst relations experience either in-house or agency side and be able to write clearly and convincingly about the business value of complex B2B software solutions. The successful candidate must have agency management experience or have worked at a senior level on the agency side. In addition:
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to execute multiple projects and multi-task within a changing business and technology environment, while keeping an eye on detail
Proven ability to craft clear, compelling stories and synthesize complex technical product information
Thorough understanding of the business, technology and vertical media
Effective written and verbal communicator with internal and external audiences and stakeholders, including C-level audiences
Self-starter who will initiate and engage various teams to develop positioning and messaging
Exemplary written and verbal skills, including expertise writing press releases, media and analyst briefs, blogs and social media
Must thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in PR or communications or a related field
