Aspen Technology, industry leader in Asset Optimization software is looking for a dynamic and energetic individual to serve as a Sr. Product Management Specialist, focusing on product strategy. The focus of this role is to drive cross-functional alignment for portfolio planning & product strategy, helping to drive company growth & profitability amidst competition and change. This specialist will ensure that our products strive to accomplish our company’s digitalization mission, by aligning roadmap & capabilities with our asset optimization portfolio strategy. This role will include leading alignment activities within Product Management, ranging from product road-map planning to commercial pricing proposals, with a particular emphasis on the products in our Manufacturing & Supply Chain suite. This role will be expected to collaborate across Product Management, Marketing, Development, Sales, and other internal functions, when leading strategic initiatives & projects.
Drive cross-functional alignment for portfolio planning & product strategy.
Take ownership over ensuring that company strategic direction is reflected in product roadmaps & product strategies, with an emphasis on the Manufacturing & Supply Chain suite of products
Collaborate with Product Managers that are responsible for individual product lines to determine best possible portfolio strategy
Work with the Program Management Office to facilitate, streamline, & evolve the product planning process
Develop a close working relationship with research and development team to ensure alignment on product roadmap priorities, capacity planning, integration strategies, and implementation details
Work with Product Managers to develop commercial pricing & licensing proposals for products
Assist Product Managers with market research, industry analysis, and customer feedback activities to ensure the product roadmap is aligned with industry needs
Work closely with market research, product marketing, sales, and other groups to implement strategic projects
Drive improvements to internal work processes and tools for Product Management
Evangelize products within and outside the organization
What You'll Need
Engineering background, with experience in the Energy or Chemicals industry preferred
Knowledge of supply chain, planning & scheduling, or manufacturing execution systems preferred
Ability to distill technical information into actionable insights, and clearly communicate value to all levels of the organization
Results-driven attitude, and ability to solve problems creatively, always focused on the overarching goal
Ability to prioritize across competing and changing priorities, with a focus on execution and delivering results
Strong leadership and people management skills, with proven track record in leading successful projects, product or business initiatives
Excellent communication skills to engage experts, but also tell compelling stories to senior executives
Strong customer-focused design thinking skills (internal and external)
Ability to identify customer pain points and translate these into product requirements
Skills and experience
At least 5 years of experience in an engineering, product management, or project management role
Experience managing cross-functional teams in ambiguous environments
Solid background in strategy development and implementation
Strong quantitative and financial analysis skills
Strong conceptual problem solving skills, with the ability to approach complex business problems and formulate a path to a solution
Experience delivering products in an enterprise environment
Prior experience with Agile is preferred
Minimum B.S. degree in engineering, management degree is preferred.
