The Role

The Global Accounts Director is directly responsible for generating revenue through sales of AspenTech software solutions and services to major corporate customers. This position is highly consultative, positioning AspenTech solutions and services with our largest multinational customers and successfully closing profitable deals. The Global Accounts Director is a trusted advisor to the customer and maximizes sales and service bookings.

The Global Accounts Director leads multi-disciplined teams from all regions of the world and multiple departments of the company to ensure successful sales outcome.

Your Impact

  • Achieve quarterly and annual sales quota for licenses and services in the assigned accounts, with a focus on large transactions.

  • Achieve assigned objectives of sales pipeline development, customer satisfaction, and customer visits

  • Effectively articulate commercial value to customers and apply relevant customer engagement methodologies

  • Cultivate and maintain customer contacts at assigned accounts including executive level engagements between the customer(s) and AspenTech.

  • Expand AspenTech relationships by engaging with new customer employees and business units and by introducing other AspenTech employees.

  • Manage day to day sales process, coordinate global account team meetings, and effectively utilize regional Solutions Consulting and Sales Support resources

  • Provide Sales and Executive management with marketplace assessments (current and potential), account updates, sales forecasts, etc. as requested. This includes accurately and timely updating of sales management information systems

What You'll Need

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Demonstrated record of success in direct sales role and extensive experience selling enterprise software solutions - energy market preferred

  • Demonstrates financial understanding of the market and its impact; able to use this to articulate value creation to customers

  • Experience in applying engineering, big data / AI, maintenance and/or manufacturing solutions to drive customer success in the process industries.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex solutions applied to refining, upstream and/or chemicals operations required. Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Data Science preferred. Master’s Degree or equivalent would be beneficial.

  • Familiarity with process modeling software products and services, advance process control / real time optimization, manufacturing execution systems, planning and scheduling solutions and Big data / machine learning preferred

  • Excellent English verbal and writing skills

Travel is expected approximately 50% of the time.
