The Role

AspenTech is seeking a Senior Consultant Engineer level position within our Global Professional Services organization based as part of the AspenTech consulting practice in our Houston, Texas Office. The position will provide consulting to clients implementing our proprietary Manufacturing Execution System software packages – including but not limited to Aspen InfoPlus.21 database historian and Aspen Production Record Manager. Additional tasks will be to develop integration solutions and Graphical User Interfaces for our customers using .Net programming platform or RDBMS TSQL. The successful individual will join the team as senior consultant member responsible for undertaking consulting services for AspenTech clients in chemical industries, polymer industries, pharmaceutical industries, as well as petroleum industries with opportunities to engage in projects in North America, Europe and Latin America.

Your Impact

  • Deliver consulting services including; solutions design, installation, implementation, technical delivery and training in support of AspenTech clients deploying the AspenTech Manufacturing suite of products.

  • Deliver technical documents such as Functional Specifications, Detailed Design Documents, User Requirement specification, as well as Factory Acceptance Test documents and Site Acceptance Test Documents

  • Be confident, capable and have the ability to play a proactive role even a leading role on projects and demonstrate the ability to gather, document and implement client requirements

  • Coordinate with the AspenTech Project Manager and client to ensure projects achieve, or exceed, stated milestones, delivery dates and financial goals.

  • Maintain and extend client satisfaction levels and open opportunities for additional product usage.

  • Work co-operatively with the AspenTech extended team in Sales, Business Consultants, Support, Product Management and R&D, and our Partners to ensure successful project delivery and completion.

  • Assist the sales organization and Services management team in preparing and delivering complex bids and proposals to major corporate clients.

What You'll Need

  • Minimum of 4-8 years of experience implementing commercial software applications specific to these functional areas.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or other BS degree specializing in Engineering or Computer Science.

  • Experience with AspenTech’s Manufacturing Execution System software is highly advantageous.

  • Experience in the chemical industry, the oil and gas industry, and the pharmaceutical Industry or business is advantageous.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in previous endeavors

  • Experience with using calculations in Microsoft Excel and programming VB within Excel are a plus.

  • Experience with VB.Net, C++ or other programming experience are highly advantageous

  • Experience with Relational Databases and process data real-time historian databases

  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) language skills are a plus.

  • Must be willing to travel up to 35% (calendar year)
